Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: October 2026

Welcome to www.TrilliumProfessionalLearning.com.

These Terms and Conditions outline the rules for using the Trillium Professional Learning website and purchasing or accessing our courses, training services, and resources.

By accessing this website or purchasing or using a Trillium Professional Learning product or service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this website or our services.

Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate properly, remember preferences, understand website usage, and improve the customer experience.

Some cookies are necessary for the website to function. Other cookies may be used for analytics, marketing, embedded content, or services provided by third parties.

Depending on your browser and applicable law, you may be able to accept, decline, or manage optional cookies through your browser or website cookie settings.

Intellectual Property and License

Unless otherwise stated, Trillium Professional Learning owns or licenses the intellectual property rights to the materials available through our website, courses, and training resources.

This may include course videos, presentations, written content, handouts, worksheets, graphics, templates, downloads, assessments, training materials, and other educational resources.

Unless a product specifically includes a broader organizational or center license, materials are provided for the purchaser's individual professional use.

You may not, without written permission from Trillium Professional Learning:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute our materials

  • Sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially distribute our materials

  • Share course access or login credentials with another person

  • Record or redistribute course videos or live training

  • Use our materials to provide training to others unless the product specifically includes permission to do so

Products sold with a center, organizational, or training-resource license may be used according to the license terms provided with that product.

Online Courses and Course Access

Online course access is intended for the learner to whom the course or training seat has been assigned.

Learners are responsible for completing the requirements stated within each course. Requirements may include video viewing, assessments, written responses, activities, instructor feedback, or other course components.

For courses requiring instructor review, completion is not final until the required work has been reviewed and approved.

Course access, training seats, certificates, and learner accounts may not be shared or transferred unless Trillium Professional Learning specifically authorizes the transfer.

Course Completion and Certificates

Some Trillium Professional Learning courses require learners to:

  • Watch all required course videos in their entirety

  • Earn at least 80% on required assessments

  • Complete any required written responses, activities, or instructor-feedback components

Requirements may vary by course and will be identified within the course.

Certificates requiring instructor review will not become available until the learner's work has been reviewed.

Please allow up to two business days for instructor review unless otherwise stated. We often complete reviews sooner.

If you have an urgent certification deadline, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to assist whenever possible.

Annual Professional Development Only

Unless a course page specifically states otherwise, Trillium Professional Learning's on-demand professional development courses are intended for annual continuing professional development hours.

They are not substitutes for required foundational, orientation, or site-specific training, including programs such as:

  • Child Care Basics

  • Safe Sleep training

  • EQEL or other required foundational state training

  • Employer- or site-specific licensing orientation

  • Any other course or certification specifically required by a licensing agency, employer, or regulatory body

A course being approved for annual professional development does not mean it satisfies every training requirement for licensed child care professionals.

Learners and organizations are responsible for reviewing the course description and confirming that a course meets the requirement they are trying to fulfill before purchasing.

If you are unsure whether a course is appropriate for your requirement, please contact us before purchasing.

State Approval and Professional Development Requirements

Trillium Professional Learning offers annual professional development training in jurisdictions where individual courses or the trainer have received applicable approval.

Training requirements vary by state, licensing agency, employer, professional credential, job role, and individual circumstance.

Where a course is identified as approved for a particular state or program, that approval applies only as described for that specific course.

Completion of a Trillium Professional Learning course does not guarantee acceptance by every employer, regulatory agency, licensing body, credentialing organization, or state.

Learners and organizations are responsible for confirming that a course meets their individual requirements before purchase.

State Approval and Registry Status Changes

Course approval and registry status may change because of decisions made by state agencies, registries, licensing bodies, or other third parties outside Trillium Professional Learning's control.

If a course is removed from a state registry, loses approval, or otherwise becomes ineligible for the purpose for which it was originally offered, Trillium Professional Learning reserves the right, at its discretion, to provide an affected learner with a course credit or replacement training option.

A change in registry or approval status does not automatically create a right to a cash refund unless required by applicable law.

Purchasing the Correct Course

Customers are responsible for reviewing course descriptions, state-approval information, intended audience, and applicable training requirements before purchasing.

Purchasing a course that does not meet a learner's specific licensing, employer, credentialing, or professional-development requirement does not automatically qualify the purchase for a refund.

Where appropriate, Trillium Professional Learning may choose to offer a course credit or allow the learner to transfer into a more appropriate course, but such accommodation is not guaranteed.

Training Seat Packages

Organizations may purchase multiple training seats for staff members.

Assigned, activated, accessed, or redeemed training seats are considered used and may not be transferred or refunded unless otherwise stated.

Purchasing a seat package does not grant permission to copy or redistribute the course itself.

Unused seats may remain available according to the terms of the package purchased.

Center-Licensed Training Resources

Some Trillium Professional Learning products may be sold under a center or organizational license.

These products may allow an organization to use designated materials internally with its own employees according to the license provided with the product.

A center license does not transfer ownership of the materials and does not permit resale, public distribution, publication, or use outside the purchasing organization unless specifically authorized.

Live and Private Training

Trillium Professional Learning may provide live virtual training, in-person professional development, CPR/First Aid training, private group training, and other scheduled services.

Training dates, participant limits, travel arrangements, pricing, cancellation terms, rescheduling terms, and other conditions may be stated on the applicable registration page, quote, invoice, or written agreement.

Where those terms differ from the general policies on this website, the terms associated with that specific booking will control.

CPR, First Aid, BLS, and Skills-Based Training

CPR, First Aid, BLS, and similar courses may include online coursework, in-person instruction, hands-on practice, live virtual skills evaluation, or a combination of formats.

Certification is issued only after all required coursework and skills components have been successfully completed.

Customers are responsible for confirming that the certification format purchased meets any employer, licensing, or regulatory requirements applicable to them.

Payments and Sales Tax

Payment is due at the time of purchase unless another payment arrangement is stated on an invoice or written agreement.

Applicable sales tax may be added where required by law.

Payments may be processed through third-party providers such as Stripe. Trillium Professional Learning does not directly store complete credit or debit card information processed by those providers.

Refunds and Cancellations

Online Courses

Once an online course has been accessed or started, the purchase is nonrefundable except where otherwise required by law.

If you purchase a course and have not accessed any course content, you may contact us within 14 days of purchase. Trillium Professional Learning may, at its discretion, provide a credit toward another course or service.

Credits have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash.

Selecting or purchasing the wrong course does not automatically entitle the purchaser to a refund.

Where appropriate, Trillium Professional Learning may choose to offer a course credit or allow the learner to transfer into a more appropriate course.

If a course is removed from an applicable state registry or loses an approval that materially affects its intended use, Trillium Professional Learning may offer affected learners a credit or replacement course at its discretion.

Any refund or remedy required by applicable law will be honored.

Training Seat Packages

Purchases of training seat packages are final.

Assigned, activated, accessed, or redeemed seats are nonrefundable.

Unused seats are not automatically eligible for a cash refund.

Any refund or remedy required by applicable law will be honored.

Live, Virtual, and Private Group Training

Cancellation and rescheduling policies for scheduled training may vary depending on the service purchased.

The cancellation terms provided on the applicable quote, invoice, registration page, or written agreement will govern that booking.

If Trillium Professional Learning must cancel a scheduled training and an acceptable replacement date cannot be arranged, payment made specifically for that canceled training will be refunded.

Duplicate or Incorrect Charges

If you believe you were charged incorrectly or more than once for the same purchase, please contact us so we can investigate and correct the issue.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trillium Professional Learning does not guarantee that participation in a course or training program will result in employment, promotion, licensing approval, regulatory approval, or any particular professional outcome.

Educational information is provided for professional learning purposes and should not be treated as individualized legal, medical, licensing, regulatory, or other professional advice.
